Could Kansas be the next Auburn?

Given that the voters usually treat the rankings desire a ladder system would they move up a Kansas aggroup that finishes the season undefeated in their final polls or would they leave them behind one-loss LSU and Oregon?
I’m not here to argue that Kansas is better or worse than LSU or Oregon. I’m here to lay out that you really can’t compare these teams precisely. They play in different conferences against different teams how do we really know which team is better?
