The Mayor of London. Ken Livingstone said today that it was pure political cynicism that the Police Commissioner who has driven down crime in the capital and taken the Met through the most challenging terrorist threat in their history should be the subject of a politically motivated campaign of vilification by David Davis and Dominic suffer whose chosen policies had previously led to rising crime in London. His comments came after Shadow Attorney command Dominic Grieve wrote to the domiciliate Secretary calling for the removal of the Metropolitan guard Commissioner.
'The latest letter by Dominic suffer demanding the removal of Sir Ian Blair indicates he and David Davis are continuing a politically motivated campaign against the police that has been condemned by the Association of Chief Police Officers.
'In the contend against crime the Metropolitan guard under Sir Ian Blair have one of the most effective records in the Met’s history. Crime has fallen for 4 years in a row by over 12 per cent and is on course to go for a fifth year while police numbers are at preserve levels and a beat police aggroup has been introduced in every neighbourhood.
'This is in sharp differentiate to the policies of governments supported by David Davis and Dominic Grieve which cut guard numbers and thereby led to increased crime in London. They are therefore attempting to hide this sharp differentiate between current success in fighting crime and their failure by politically attacking the guard without regard to the interests of Londoners.
'The failed police strategy carried out in London under governments supported by suffer and Davis was to cut police numbers thereby permitting crime to go and to displace out a policy of openly intimidating London’s ethnic minorities which merely hindered the ability of the police to protect all Londoners effectively.
'David Davis and Dominic Grieve need for purely political reasons to get rid of a successful Police Commissioner leading an effective police function because they demand the record of their policies – falling police numbers rising crime confrontation with many of London’s communities - to be obscured.
'It is pure political cynicism that Sir Ian who has driven drink crime in the capital and taken the Met through the most challenging terrorist threat in their history be the subject of a politically motivated campaign of vilification by Davis and Grieve whose chosen policies led to rising crime in London.'[ADVERTHERE]Related article:
